SEN PROCEDURES
Once a year the children are assessed using Birmingham Local Authority Tests. If these tests show that your child would benefit from having special education needs provision then they will be placed on the SEN register. Please do not worry if you receive a letter saying that your child has been placed on the SEN register as many children require extra support during their time in school. If you do receive a letter you will be invited to come into school to discuss it.
An Individual Education Plan (IEP) will be written for your child and reviewed twice a year. The first review meeting, to which you will be invited, is usually held between December and February. The second one is usually part of the Parents' Evening in July, however, if you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher or Ms Chisholm.
Thank you to all parents who continue to support us by attending your child's reviews
Please note that children will not necessarily be on the SEN register permanently. We expect that the strategies and reviews used will help some improve enough to be removed.
For parents who would like to help their children at home and have internet access, there are some useful education websites listed below.
