The number of times that children have arrived late at school this week is 57.
Attendance is a key issue for us.
Please help us by keeping us informed if your child is ill or not attending school and otherwise ensuring your child comes to school every day and on time.
OFSTED INSPECTION JUNE 2011
They said that although we have been working very hard to improve the standards we need to get even better so we are going to work hard at reading in Key Stage 1 and writing in Key Stage 2. We are going to start to work closely with good school in Nechells and this will really help us to improve.
The Inspectors liked the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the school and were very impressed when they spoke to the children about the school. The behaviour of the children was very very good and they said "the school is a friendly place where everyone gets on well together".
Birmingham have said that the school is "an improving school that is working hard to raise standards" and this year we have very good SATs results which shows how hard the children are working.
Although the school monitors the children's attendance very well and there are rewards and competitions for good punctuality and attendance, Ofsted felt that the attendance overall is still low and if the children are not at school we cannot teach them.
The inspectors will be coming back to check that we are still improving the standards and that the children are coming to school more regularly.
